Redmi K20 and K20 pro launched in China starting at CNY 2,499

Today at an event, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi finally unveils its first Qualcomm Snadragon 855 powered handset – Redmi K20 Pro, being popularly known as (flagship killer 2.0) along with the K20. The new flagship Redmi K20 Pro features a 3D gradient glass back, a metal uni-body with golden specifications. It also sports a triple camera setup at the rear with 48MP primary sensor highlight.

K20 Pro specifications

The Redmi K20 Pro sports a 7th generation in-display fingerprint scanner, a 6.39-inch AMOLED bezel less display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen to body ratio of 91.9% along with a layer of Corning Gorilla glass 6 at both the front and back.

The SD855 SoC offers an octa-core chipset which is built on the company’s latest 7nm fabrication process.

The phone will be available to users in three RAM and storage variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB. The K20 Pro runs on a MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.

The phone offers a triple camera setup at the back comprising of a 48MP f/1.7 primary snapper, a 13MPf/2.4 secondary shooter, and an 8MP telephoto f/2.4 sensor. K20 also delivers 2x optical zoom, 2K video recording at 60fps, HDR, a dual-LED flash unit and PDAF.

The phone features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, dual-SIM slots, and dual-band Wi-Fi. The phone renders decent Audio and DC Dimming features. The phone is backed up by a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support.

Redmi K20 specifications

Now talking about the K20, the phone comes powered by an octa-core Qualcomm SD 730 processor. Apart from the processor, most of the specifications of the K20 are similar to the K20 Pro.

Hence you get the same in-display fingerprint sensor, a triple rear camera setup, Android 9 Pie, and the phone is backed by the same 4,000mAh battery. Although, the fast-charging support is limited to 18 Watts.

Xiaomi’s Redmi K20 and K20 Pro pricing and availability

The Xiaomi’s Redmi K20 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage would go on sale with a price tag of CNY 1,999 (Rs. 20,200 approx.) while the other K20 pro will be priced at CNY 2,499 (Rs. 25,200 approx.) for the same 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.

The K20’s 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at CNY 2,099 (Rs. 21,200 approx.) and CNY 2,599 (Rs. 26,200 approx.) for the K20 pro.

The K20’s ace variant (8GB + 256GB) is said to carry a price tag of CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 26,200) and CNY 2,999 (Rs 30,200 approx.) for the K20 Pro

The K20 Pro’s (8GB +128GB) variant will be priced at CNY 2,799 (Rs. 28,200 approx.).
